STONE BARNS, MAY 2013

May 7, 2013

I recently went on a trip with my Food and American Culture seminar classmates to Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture in Westchester, New York. It was eye-opening to walk and learn about a fully functioning local farm, dedicated to producing food for a community and for Blue Hill's Manhattan restaurant location. After reading and discussing numerous issues related to food in our seminar, it was the perfect way to end the semester by exploring, eating, and being educated in the cultivation of real food.

One of my favorite parts of the trip: Blue Hill Cafe

We really loved the space

"Know Thy Farmer"

During my time there, I couldn't help but think over and over again that my parents would've absolutely loved being there as well. Above all else, they've made it a point to impart the importance of pure, organic, healthy foods to my brother and me, starting with their garden that was their pride and joy in the Summer of 2011.
