MIHAE & PAUL, ENGAGED!

November 30, 2011

In the middle of a crisp, October day, I went for a walk through the Brooklyn Botanical Garden with Mihae and Paul and came to know the little things that make them so unique. For example, Mihae's gorgeous sapphire engagement ring (she vehemently didn't want a diamond). Her love for cheap deli flowers, and the fact that he always buys them for her. Their stack of handwritten cards that they wrote to one another during difficult times. Their favorite hole-in-the-wall spot for Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches, whenever they're in Brooklyn. Paul's two-page rhyming poem he wrote for the proposal, and a certain video of him playing the violin...

Mihae and Paul's love is the precious product of much time, prayer, and devotion, and I wish them all the best as they start this new journey... starting with a destination wedding in St. Thomas next year!

IN THE SUMMER, THE SONG SINGS ITSELF

November 29, 2011

It's that time of the semester when everyone is scrambling in preparation for finals and catching up on all the readings that they didn't actually do for homework. These photographs from this past summer seem to be from a different world from where I currently am-- a place where time moves a bit more slowly, and the light and warmth makes Manhattan more lively than usual.
